How to Choose the Right Tattoo Artist

            There are many different types of tattoo artist and no one artist is right for everybody.  However, you can find the tattoo artist that is right for you – just follow the tips below.

• Visit a couple different tattoo parlors in your area.  Notice the cleanliness of the place and ask see the credentials of the tattoo artist you are considering. 



• Ask friends and family who did their tattoo work and what they thought of the experience.  Often, personal recommendations are the best way to begin narrowing your choices for a tattoo artist.



• Talk to the tattoo artist you are considering to see if you get along with them.  If you have any doubts, choose a different artist.



• Look through photos of their recent tattoos.   Most tattoo artist keep photos of all of the tattoos that they have done.  Select an artist whose style matches your own.



• Don’t be put off if you have to wait a couple weeks to book an appointment with your selected tattoo artist.  This often means that they have a good reputation and are very in demand (and worth the wait).



• Choose a tattoo artist who has been in business for a while – it takes time to get really good at this profession.



• While it might be tempting to select the least expensive tattoo artist, choose based on work quality instead of price since this tattoo will be on your body for the rest of your life.  It is well worth the money to pay for quality.



• Once you find a tattoo artist that you like and are comfortable with, stick with them for all of your tattoos.
